Celebrate 100 of America’s most beloved books with PBS and Christian County Library!

The Great American Read is an eight-part television competition and nationwide campaign, exploring the power of books and the joy of reading through the lens of America’s 100 best-loved novels. The series will air this fall on PBS, but Christian County Library is starting the celebration early!

Cast your vote

Make your voice heard! Vote for your favorite book in the regional Great Ozarks Read poll, and we’ll find out what Christian County’s favorite book is. (You can also vote in the national PBS poll.)

Design a book cover

Create a work of art that could be used as a book cover for a Great American Read title. Compete against other artists in your age group (0-12, 13-18, 19+). Winners will have their art displayed in libraries throughout the region!

Celebrate with us

Join Christian County Library and your friends and neighbors at our exciting events for all ages. Show off your trivia knowledge, design a book cover, or enjoy a showing at at our Great American Read Film Festival, occurring twice a month from August to October.
