All Christian County Library branches and community partner pick-up locations will be closed until further notice. The well-being and safety of our patrons and staff are best served by recognizing a period of social distancing that can only be met by closing facilities. Yet, we have not stopped in our goal to assist with meeting the needs of our community, even while our physical branches are closed.
To assist families and individuals during this time of social distancing, the Christian County Library has created two reading challenges on our reading challenge platform Beanstack named Spring into Reading. One challenge for kids and families and one for adults and teens.
These challenges will reward readers of all ages with online badges earned by logging minutes read, writing book reviews, and completing activities at home. Each activity badge consists of resources and activities carefully selected by our staff for children, teens, and adults.
- Activity badges for children and tweens include learning resources and entertainment options such as creating a storytime at home, how to travel around the world from your computer, S.T.E.A.M activities, writing prompts, and resources popular authors and artists are providing for their fans during the spread of COVID-19.
- Activity badges for teens and adults include resources to learn more about COVID-19, methods to keep active and exercise platforms, and ways to access live streams and entertainment for free
The Spring into Reading Challenge is available starting Monday, March 23rd through the end of April to anyone who would like to participate. Access the challenges by clicking on christiancountylibrary.beanstack.org and create your account today! No library card is required to register, however, some activities and resources will require a library card number.
