Christian County Library can borrow items from academic and public libraries throughout the region. We will process these items and deliver them to your local pickup location for no charge. This group of libraries is known as MOBIUS. If MOBIUS doesn't have your item, we can request it from other libraries throughout the country.
If there's an item that you feel would improve the library's collection, you can fill out this form to request a purchase.
In most cases, this is because your card needs to be updated. Your card requires an update once per year so that we can confirm your information. There is no charge to update your card if you live in Christian County. If you pay for a nonresident card, your annual $20 fee is assessed at the time of the update.
To update your card, we need:
- Library card number
- Phone number
- Email (optional)
You can provide us this information in the secure Ask a Librarian form, or you can give us a call or stop by your local branch.
The Nixa and Ozark Branches can accept donations of up to four boxes of books and other items at once during operating hours. Due to space limitations, the Clever Branch cannot accept book donations at this time. Most donated materials will be sold at the Friends of the Library's semi-annual book sale, and proceeds used to benefit the library. Tax receipts can be provided upon request.
- Bibles & other religious texts
- Jigsaw puzzles
- Hardback books
- Paperback books
- Select magazines (see below)
The library is not able to accept some items:
- VHS tapes
- Cassette tapes
- Reader's Digest
- National Geographic
- News magazines older than 6 months (Time, People, etc.)
- Most magazines older than 1 year (unless it is a topic of interest to educators, collectors, historians, etc.)
- Free magazines (AARP, Missouri Conservationist, etc.)
- Items damaged by water, smoke, pests, etc.
You can access the digital collection on your phone, tablet, ereader, or computer. Christian County Library offers one-on-one training to help you get started. Click here to request an appointment, or give us a call and we'll be glad to help you submit the form.
