Wild for Water

Learn about the water cycle in these STEM-based lesson plans!

  • Listening to a water cycle themed storytime
  • Logging the weather and temperature by your home for one week
  • Crafting a diagram of the water cycle
  • Singing a classic nursery rhyme
  • Identifying Missouri waterways with handouts
  • Creating a water gauge

Lesson plans are modified with specific age-ranges in mind. One for Pre-K to grade 2 for adult-led instruction, and one for grades 3-5 designed for more independent learners. Although these lessons are intentionally constructed for specific grade ranges, parents and students are welcome to try out both each month.

The Missouri Learning Standards using the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines has been used to create lesson content. However, they are not intended to replace the educational curriculum provided through public, private, or at-home learning.

Please note that an active Christian County Library card will be necessary to access select activities. Need a library card? Contact us at youthservices@christiancountylibrary.org or call your local community branch.
