Treasure Hunting: Secrets of the Deep

Learn about treasure hunting under the seas in these lessons!

  • Listening to a Titanic-themed story
  • Defining what "treasure" can mean to different people
  • Learning about famous shipwrecks
  • Imagining and creating your own shipwreck
  • Inventing a tool that can help marine archaeologists

Lesson plans are modified with specific age-ranges in mind. One for Pre-K to grade 2 for adult-led instruction, and one for grades 3-5 designed for more independent learners. Although these lessons are intentionally constructed for specific grade ranges, parents and students are welcome to try out both each month.

The Missouri Learning Standards using the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines has been used to create lesson content. However, they are not intended to replace the educational curriculum provided through public, private, or at-home learning.

Please note that an active Christian County Library card will be necessary to access select activities. Need a library card? Contact us at youthservices@christiancountylibrary.org or call your local community branch.
