How do I get a library card?

If you live, own property, attend or work for a school in Christian County, you’re eligible for either an All-Access or Digital Access Library Card. For more information and to get your own card, click here.

I can’t access digital content. Is there something wrong with my card?

It may be possible. Your library card might need to be renewed. This happens every year and takes only a few seconds to renew either in-person, on the phone or by completing the online renewal form.

I received a message on Hoopla about a daily limit. What does this mean?

Unfortunately, that means we’ve reached the day’s budget limit. Every Hoopla checkout is deducted from our daily budgeted amount and at times we reach that limit before the end of the day. The daily limit resets at midnight, so try again the next morning.

Why do I have to wait to download materials on Libby?

Publishers often require that a digital copy is only loaned to one person at a time. This is similar to having one copy of a physical library book. If all the copies of a digital item are checked out, you can place a hold and be notified when it’s available for checkout.

Why can’t the library spend more on digital content?

Hoopla and Libby are just two of the many services provided by the library. The amount spent on digital titles has increased every year to meet demand. Maintaining a balanced collection (which includes the format of materials) requires adjustment due to usage and cost. We will continue to monitor usage and tweak the amount spent if needed.

Are there kid-friendly settings on Hoopla and Libby?
