Celebrate the Season: Holiday Events at the Library

Throughout December we’re gathering together at Christian County Library to learn festive cooking and crafting techniques, and enjoy our favorite holiday movies and stories. We welcome you to step out of the cold winter chill and join us for warm holiday festivities for all ages.

  • Candy Cane Coding: Saturday, Dec. 8, 10-11 AM, at Ozark Branch.
  • Candy Cottage Workshop for Tweens: Saturday, Dec. 15, 3:30-4:30 PM, at Ozark Branch. Registration is required. 
  • Elf Movie Party: Tuesday, Dec. 18, 4:30-6:30 PM, at Nixa Branch. Registration is required.

For Kids

  • Santa’s Workshop: Friday, Nov. 30, 2-5 PM and Saturday, Dec. 1, 10 AM – 5 PM, at Ozark Branch. Presented by the Christian County Friends of the Library.
  • Holiday Movie Marathon at Nixa: Saturday, Dec. 1, 9 AM – 1 PM, at Nixa Branch.
  • Candy Cottage Workshop: Saturday, Dec. 13, 3:30-4:30 PM, at Ozark Branch. Registration is required.
  • Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas Storytime Party: Thursday, Dec. 20, 2:30-3:30 PM, at Nixa Branch.

Did you know the Christian County Library offers many resources to enhance your holiday celebrations at home? Board games are the newest resource available for checkout from the Ozark and Nixa branches. Winter- and holiday-themed baking pans can be checked out at the Ozark Branch to bring extra cheer to a holiday celebration or family dinner. The 3-D Printer at Clever Branch and the Die Cut Machine at Ozark branch are great resources for making your own personal holiday decorations, ornaments and gifts. And, of course, the library collection features many print and digital books about cooking and crafting homemade gifts and decoration, as well as holiday-themed movies and cozy winter reads.
