Flu and COVID-19 Vaccines Available at the Christian County Library

Need a Flu or COVID-19 vaccine? The library is partnering with Alps Pharmacy to provide walk-in vaccine clinics administered by licensed pharmacists at two community branch locations. The Flu vaccine is available for anyone aged 7 or older and those 12 years and older may receive a full dose COVID-19 of the monovalent booster vaccine.

Monday, November 6, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Nixa community branch
Monday, December 4, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Ozark community branch

Most insurances are accepted for the Flu and COVID-19 vaccines. To determine if one or both vaccines are right for you take a look at the frequently asked questions below provided by Alps Pharmacy and speak with your physician.

Can I get the Flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time?
Yes. It is safe to receive both vaccines on the same day, however, side effects may include fatigue, fever, or achiness the following day after receiving both vaccinations.

Which Flu and COVID-19 vaccines will be used?
Afluria Quadrivalent manufactured by Seqirus for the Flu
COVID-19 monovalent booster vaccine manufactured by Moderna

What are the age restrictions?
People aged 7 and up may receive the Flu vaccine. Those 12 years and older are eligible for a full-dose COVID-19 monovalent booster vaccine.

If my child is under 18 will they need parental consent to receive a vaccine?
Yes. Those under the age of 18 will need parent or guardian consent to receive a vaccine.

How much does the Flu vaccine cost?
Most insurance will cover the cost of the vaccine. Without insurance, the cost is $25.

How much does the COVID-19 booster vaccine cost?
Most insurance will cover the cost but if not, the vaccine is available for $113.

I’m over 60 years old, are the vaccines free for me?
Yes! Alps Pharmacy has received a grant to cover the cost of both vaccines for Christian County seniors who are 60+.

What form of payment will be accepted?
Alps Pharmacy will accept cash, check or credit cards.

Is there any paperwork involved?
We ask that those receiving the Flu vaccine bring their insurance cards and complete the Flu Vaccine Form before arriving at the clinic. For those receiving the COVID-19 booster please complete the COVID-19 Booster Form before arriving.

Can I receive my 1st, 2nd or 3rd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at this clinic?
The only dose provided at this clinic will be the COVID-19 monovalent booster. Regardless of current immunization status, the CDC recommends at least one dose of the COVID-19 monovalent booster separated by at least 8 weeks from the last COVID-19 dose.
